Dr. Kristina Gallo…..Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Gallo was born and raised in New York. She knew from a young age she wanted to pursue dentistry, therefore she enrolled in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s accelerated biology and pre-dental program. She was awarded magna cum laude upon graduation. After graduation, she attended New York University College of Dentistry where she received her dental degree. During her time at NYU she was involved in many activities to promote oral health and went on a dental service trip to Jamaica to help those in need. Dr. Gallo chose to do a two year residency in general practice to become a well-rounded practitioner at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY where she was made chief resident in her second year.
After completing her two years at Jamaica Hospital, Dr. Gallo realized that her passion was to treat children. Therefore, she embarked on her two years of specialized pediatric training at St. Barnabas Hospital-New York Presbyterian Weil Cornell, Bronx, NY. Once a week, for the two years she was in residency she trained at The Rose F. Kennedy Center/Jacobi Medical Center. This clinic focused on teaching her the specialized skills that are needed to care for children with special needs. During her second year of pediatric residency, she was awarded the position of chief resident once again.
Dr. Gallo is a board certified pediatric dentist. She received an award for scoring in the top 3% of all candidates taking the written portion of the pediatric board exam.
After graduation, Dr. Gallo worked in private practice on Long Island, was a Program Director & Associate Professor for Harlem Hospital Center-Columbia University where she trained residents to become pediatric dentists. She also trained pediatric dental residents at St. Barnabas Hospital.
She relocated to the Capital District area in 2009, where she worked in a pediatric private practice and at St. Peter’s Hospital. She is excited to be part of this region and is still exploring all that this area has to offer with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with family, enjoys traveling, reading, taking tennis lessons with her husband, and impromptu dance parties with her kids! Currently, she is an active volunteer for Make-A-Wish as a wish granter.
Dr. Gallo is dedicated to her professional development and attends continuing education courses. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with you and your child.
